Watford is very proud of its Celebration!

This was the title of the newspaper article that appeared in the Watford Observer after the Watford Celebration 2014 event. Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill, Watford Celebration patron, attended the event and commented: “All communities celebrate but to get the communities to celebrate together as they do in Celebration is something Watford is very proud of”. The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, Fergus Mc Mullen and his wife were also present and enjoyed the afternoon. The Watford Celebration team would like to thank all those who came, participated and volunteered at Watford Celebration 2014. We would like to extend a special thanks to the Watford Chinese community for their wonderful and generous contributions and support!

Calling for volunteers!

Due to the shortage of volunteers and the loss of some key organisers, the Watford Celebration had to make some hard decisions this year. We decided that there would not be any fixed stalls and that we would give priority to cultural and faith groups.

We believe in the benefits the Watford Celebration brings to our town, giving the opportunity for the various community groups to meet each other and appreciate each other in a day of celebration and friendship.

With your help we are hoping to keep going and maybe get back to the Colosseum next year to celebrate our tenth anniversary with Watford Celebration 2015!

If you would like to volunteer and contribute in the organisation of the Watford Celebration, please contact us.

You are invited to the AGM of the Watford Celebration on

Tuesday 8th October at the Multi Cultural Community Centre, Durban Rd starting at 7.30pm.

We would really appreciate your input and support. We are wondering about next year Celebration? We would need more volunteers on our committee and to help on the day. We also need more sponsorships to keep Watford Celebration going. This is a valuable community event that brings the various communities of Watford together in a day of celebration and friendship and we would like to keep it up.

We will have some entertainment and refreshments.

Looking forward to see you on the 8th.

Thank you for coming!

The Watford Celebration team would like to thank everyone who came to participate in our annual celebration of all the various ethnic, faith and charity organisations of our town! We were privileged to have the visit of Viscountess Trenchard, High Sheriff of Hertfordshire and her husband and Cllr Steve Rackett, Chairman of the Watford Borough Council! See you next year!
