At our AGM, at the request of those presents, the Watford Celebration team made the decision to go ahead and organise Watford Celebration 2016! lt was also decided to include the celebration of the Queen's 90th birthday. Watford Celebration 2016?

Watford Celebration 2015 was a great success. Unfortunately in view of the loss of several members of our team we will have to seriously consider wheter we will be able to have another Watford Celebration next year. Many of you who attended Celebration 2015 told us not to give up and offered to help. With your help, Watford Celebration 2016 can be possible and the event can be sustained for many years to come. We specially need new members on our committee with the willingness to coordinate the international buffet, the children's activities or the performances or just to help on the day. If you think you can help, we would like to hear from you. Our AGM will be on October 8th 7.30pm at the MCCC and there will be a pre AGM meeting on September 15th 7.30pm at MCCC. At either meeting you can meet the team (but we have refreshments and entertainment at the AGM!). Please contact Judith if you think you can help or just come along on one of those days. Many thanks.

£500 for Nepal

The Watford Celebration team would like to thank all those who came and participated in Watford Celebration 2015. Many thanks to all our sponsors and volunteers who gave their time and heart to make our tenth anniversary a very successful and wonderful event! We were also delighted by the visit of Lady Verulam, the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, the Chairman of the Watford Borough Council Cllr Kareen Hastrick, Andy Hopcraft Commander of the Watford and Three Rivers District of Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Services and Judge Laurence Brass Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. Through our raffle and donations we raised £500 which was donated to the Disaster Emergency Committee Nepal Earthquake Appeal.

Many thanks and we hope to see you next year!

10th Anniversary!

Ten years ago a group of community minded people came together (see background page) and decided to hold an annual event to celebrate the rich diversity of our town. Consistently over the years that core group of volunteers has offered Watford this unique opportunity to meet and celebrate each other's distinctive heritages and special qualities. We learned to appreciate and value each other's music, dance, conversations and food. Watford Celebration's aim is 'One town together' where everyone is welcomed whatever backgrounds they comes from. We would like to thank all those who have supported us over the years!
